Positives
Light, location, good rent, big bedrooms
Negatives
Noise from internal problems/retail units/poor spec - flooding, bad AC and a crappy building management that just don
I moved into this apartment 18 months ago and got a good deal on the rent for a 2 bedrooms apartment, only because the foreign landlord didn't know how much other apartments in this building go for. It's spacious with good light, a big kitchen - but the only more… apartment I've had in Dubai without a dishwasher! The layout of the living/dining room is not good and so you hear everything from the hallway and vice versa. I've had a lot of problems in this apt, balcony constantly flooding from bad drainage and the building saying it isn't their problem even though it was, hot water tanks bursting, very poor AC that needs constant servicing or it leaks and smells bad. There was a problem with the building management for about a year too and they weren't cleaning the trash areas well enough and there were cockroaches running all over the building but they eventually got their act together I'm happy to say so that seems to gave gotten better. My biggest grievance with this building is I'm on a low floor floor and while I don't hear any noise from the street or traffic, the retail units and internal building works are obscenely loud. They're redoing the pool area right now as it's deafeningly loud and they have no concept of working in unreasonable hours so sometime start at 7am and go into the early evening.Show less

Positives
Beautiful building, across from the beach, great neighbors
Negatives
Terrible traffic
My family lived at TGR for 2 years until the increasing traffic drove us to look for accommodation elsewhere. We thoroughly enjoyed living at TGR: the finishings in our unit and the rest of the building were top-grade; panoramic windows let in lots of light which also reflected off the more… beautiful marble floors; quality built-in appliances in the kitchen and fantastic top-floor gym overlooking the Gulf. The building is also very dog-friendly and located close to the unofficial dog field by the Skydive Dubai. On the downside, our unit was awkwardly planned without a single utility closet (where is one to store a vacuum cleaner and brooms?) and the fridge sat in the middle of the kitchen. The insulation was poor as we could hear our neighbors next door and downstairs talk. The pool was frequently dirty or out-of-order and on several occasions. Not the building's fault but the weekend evening traffic was so bad that we would leave our cars parked and rely on taxis to get around. After the shisha restaurant opened downstairs guest parking became nonexistent and people would leave their cars double-parked on the curb, creating even more of a mess. I think after we moved the city built a traffic-light in front of TGR, which hopefully eased the congestion. Show less
