Can walk to DIFC

Expensive
I work in DIFC so this building is probably the best choice as it is literally just across the street. The studio feels comfortable and has nice finishing. Only downside is the high price, but then again I don't have to use my car each day.

Not enough windows, the pool has been closed for 4 months now.
The main advantage is the size of the two bedroom apartment, it's really spacious. The layout of the living room which is triangular makes it difficult to enjoy all the space though and doesn't make it very cosy. Overall it's a very nice tower with very high standards of quality. more… Currently the rooftop pool is closed, it's annoying but they are making it bigger so when completed it's an advantage for the community. The reason of my move out was the energy consumption. AC is not included, if you can't live without AC from time to time you gonna pay a lot. It can reach 1800aed monthly in summer months.Show less

Location and layout

Maintenance, pool, gym, price increase yoy
The pros of my place are location and size. The building has a premium location if you work in DIFC or Downtown Dubai, and the studio is relatively big with a nice layout and finishings. However, everyone in the building, including me, complain of the maintenance, it simply takes ages more… to fix anything. For example, one elevator has been down for a month, making the wait in the morning unbearable (I have been late several times to work because of this). The pool has been closed for 3 months this year for "maintenance and proofing", and last year the same thing happened as well. The Jacuzzi has been down for a year! The gym is sooo bad I had to pay a lot of money to go to Fitness First. There is one elliptical machine, which is 5 years old and makes noises, two treadmills, and veryyy old and limited weights. Another con is the price increase year on year! I am renting from the developer and in one year they increased my rent from 67k to 75k and this year they want 85k. No negotiations. So I am moving out this year and would definitely not recommend this property for anyone. Show less

Some sewage/maintenance issues.
I have lived here for more than 5 years and have LOVED it. The location is EXCELLENT without getting you stuck in traffic (like in JBR or downtown) and is much more convenient to reach than other SZR/DIFC apartments. The building was brand new with good amenities, a beautiful more… lobby and nice design. The studios are very spacious and wall-to-wall windows provide awesome views. They have been adding some stores (salon, dry cleaner, grocery, bakery to come) in the past year or two so it is more convenient now, but DIFC is right across the street anyway. Rental rates were amazing since I moved in right after the crisis hit, but now they are reaching the ridiculous point again. They do need to provide some free visitor parking though and fix the smoke/fire alarms that like to go off at all hours of the night every couple months.Show less

Positives
The location and facilities
Negatives
No windows
The location is fantastic of Sky Gardens: it is very seldom that you can work and live within a few hundred meters in Dubai. Not to mention the amazing F&B outlets and facilities that you can use in DIFC without having to sit in your car. The flat itself was more… very nice size for a studio with a great layout where you could almost completely segregate a bedroom from your living area. The finishing was nice and had a nice view over Zabeel. The one very big down side of the flat was that you could not open the windows at all and it was slightly claustrophobic due to that. Also, the parking was really not thought over at all. They made it impossible for the guests to come and park anywhere. The flat had quite good soundproofing but they started a construction right next door that was still very noisy during construction hours. The maintenance was quite efficient that came with the flat at no extra charge. The pool area and gym was very nice and well kept. Show less

Positives
The area I'm living in and the services I get in the building
Negatives
The price of the apartment
It's true that Sky Gardens is a perfect location for most people who work in DIFC, or are looking to live on a high end street but the apartments are ridiculously overpriced and there are no rules for not raising the rent because it's part of the free zone - more… which means they can change the rent whenever and however they want. The gym is fully equipped, but the machines are not serviced or cleaned regularly and some of them don't even work properly. The AC bills come separately and they are insanely priced - over the roof - very unrealistic. If you don't pay, obviously they cut it off and it really gets unbearable. The windows are rarely cleaned - maybe once a year. Mine hasn't been cleaned for the past 3 years I've lived there. If you sleep early, good luck because you can hear all the parties and music happening in DIFC - especially on weekends. Good things: finishing is good, there's a dryclean, maid service, salon, spa, minimarket and a mini bakery in the building which is very convenient.Show less

View, beautiful building and surroundings
Negatives
Noise and disgusting smell
Sky Gardens is a beautiful, 40-storey building in DIFC with a designer-styled lobby. Kind security, but many smugly and smartphone-addicted residents. DIFC is a beautiful area, but no hotspot by night. I had a beautiful sight on DIFC and Za'abeel Park, except of the district cooling plant. This plant is more… the reason for a permanent, loud and very annoying noise the whole day and night! The maintenance team was not able to completely fix a disgusting smell from the WC pipe in the bathroom as well as stopping cockroaches and aunts coming inside the flat. Finally I fixed the latter issue by myself with closing holes between the tiles. Some flats have a balcony, without you don't get fresh air because you cannot open the windows. The pool area on the roof-top could be nice, but is in a very bad condition. Every flat has a basement parking, there are only a few parking spaces outside for visitors, usually most of them occupied. The property management is unprofessional and incapable of providing proper bills for district cooling.Show less
