Positives
Spacious units, storage
Negatives
Construction, lack of maintenance
I love the spaciousness of the one bedroom unit I have. The kitchen is huge! I have so much cabinet space that I use some for storage of suitcases, vacuum, etc. Enough closet space in bedroom for a single woman. Maintenance of the common areas is not the best, and more… the security guard is not always in the lobby. The gym is small, but usable and the rooftop pool is decent. There is some construction noise and occasionally crowds from the Cricket Stadium, but that comes with the neighborhood. Shops and cafes are a very quick car or bike ride to Motor City. The happening areas of Dubai are all a 10-20 minute drive away. Overall, good value for the money.Show less

Positives
The building itself with its facilities.
Negatives
No Metro Station nearby.
It is true that it has been just 9 months since I have lived here but it is now my home and I love it here. It has all the basic needs to live a peaceful life but there are some issues which do not pertain to the building more… but to its surroundings. Like there is no metro station nearby and also in the Sports area, there are no restaurants and shops. You have to go the Motor City nearby and it is only easy when you own a car. Also when there is a match in the stadium, the roads do get jammed up. Otherwise the area is peaceful and the neighboring buildings are quite. Also the location is quite ideal as it links with the highway because of which Mall of the Emirates, JBR and much alike areas are nearer to reach. Show less

I really like my apartment, but it's still really empty concerning the social life. There isn't any coffee shop or a cafe or a restaurant to visit, I mean it gets lonely sometimes.

Positives
The garden, the size of the apartments, fellow Brit neighbours
Negatives
Fittings not fit for purpose, constant noise, cockroaches
First the bad news: There is rarely anyone at the front desk, there is no security to speak of because the staff speak little or no English and none of them have any maintenance skills. The quality of the apartments is beyond bad... On moving in we had a sink that more… didn't drain and a shower that ran all over the floor due to incorrect fitting, light switches that weren't connected to the corresponding lights or ventilation systems (we were the first tenants). Now 18 months on we also have a broken latch on every door in the apartment, including the external door. None of these problems have ever been rectified despite reporting them time and time again. Also the walls were almost impossible to attach curtain poles or pictures, we had to employ a professional because it broke our drill bit! The finish is shocking - taps are rusty, the kitchen worktop doesn't have a waterproof seal on it, neither do the bathroom tiles. The gym is terrible, a room with a couple of machines and no aircon. The rubbish chute is blocked for several hours a day and the water pressure is so low it is sometimes impossible to take a shower. Because the shoot is blocked people leave bags in the rubbish room which has led to a permanent infestation of cockroaches. The aircon is as good as useless, clearly it is not being maintained. I have actually seen people come to clean the pool but I think there are other filter problems as it often has scum on the surface and hairs floating in it. The emergency stairwells are often blocked with furniture or rubbish. The noise between apartments is minimal but smells travel freely between the bathroom fan system (which doesn't work) so you can be greeted by the smell of fried onions or cigarette smoke or worse. Also there is an internal phone which weirdly transfers noise between apartments and the external door gives no sound insulation so you hear everything in the corridor. Although there is little noise from the neighbours there is a building site opposite. Everyday from 0600-1900 a generator creates a constant mechanical hum for which the shabby balcony doors provide absolutely no sound insulation from. Unfortunately those hours are a guideline, at 8pm it is still running and we used to get a break on Fridays but not anymore. The building in question has not progressed in any visible way in the 18 months we have lived here so I certainly don't see an end anytime soon. Also none of the building in this area have a telecom on the car park barrier so lazy people/ visitors/ people who have lost their remote sit at the barriers with their horn blaring until the attendant opens the barrier. There's 10 buildings in close proximity so noise is pretty bad, it's all hours of the day and night. Cricket matches put the whole area on lockdown and they wanted us to PAY for a permit that would give us in and out privileges on match days! And despite all the visitors the matches bring there is not one pavement (sidewalk) anywhere in Sports City. It's lucky there's nowhere to go because walking or jogging would mean taking your life in your hands. THE GOOD NEWS? Sports City is CHEAP. These are very large apartments that overlook the golf course and out front is the only green space in Sports City, a well maintained little park with benches and a playground. The view from the roof is incredible, you can see all of JLT and over the golf course. And we have a lighted sign right on top of the building! So it's easy to identify our tower for deliveries and taxi drivers. It's true that there are no shops or restaurants but there are 3 supermarkets, 20 restaurants, a book store, salons, a clinic & 2 pharmacies only 2 minutes away in Motor City - even on established communities like The Springs you have to travel to the facilities. The Els Golf Club in walking distance serves alcohol and has restaurants. There is a bus which runs to Mall of the Emirates every 30 mins and direct access from the 44 & 311 BOTH DIRECTIONS which is unusual. It's only at the bottom of Hessa Street so perfect location. Central location, no problem getting on or off in the morning and some of the cheapest rents in the city? Some things are worth compromising for. If you are hoping to save some money while in Dubai this is a place with a few niggles but you can live with them at a push! Show less

Positives
The view, the layout, secutrity, maintenance and easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road
Negatives
Parking is a nightmare.
As the title suggests, it's the view that the apartment offers that will win you over. Every morning, you wake up to a lush golf course view. It's green, has the token water body and makes you forget the stress of your everyday life. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION: It's believed that location more… is everything for a traffic-addled Dubai. Greens, with its easy access to Dubai's arterial road Sheikh Zayed, scores big here. You can reach any mall - be it MOE, Ibn Battuta or Dxb mall, under 30 minutes. Show less

We have an electric stove that we have not been able to use
We have lived in this building for 10 months, and will be moving out when our year is up. The kitchen is only geared for gas, so make sure you have a gas stove. The maintenance is suspect to say the least. When we moved in the kitchen sink leaked, more… we brought in the maintenance crew to have a look at it, thinking there must be a seal to be replaced and the first thing they did was to pour industrial acid in the sink - totally ruining the sink which had to be replaced. The new sink also developed a leak below in the pipes, and guess what...more acid down the new sink ..... We waited months for the water heater to be replaced, so for the first few months we had no hot water. Sometimes the (very slow) lifts don't stop flush with the floor, so caution is always required. The gym (enclosed in glass) is located at the back of the building, overlooking the car park and back entrance - not exactly the perfect spot to work out with everyone gawking at you! Often the maintenance crew hang out in the gym waiting for their transport to arrive. There is no air conditioning in the public areas (on the floors), otherwise, for the price, its not bad. The elevators are monitored by CCTV, which is a good thing. Show less

Negatives
Too much developer work to be finished.
The developer needs to get in gear and start on the roads and canal in Sports City. As the top layer of road is still to go down the speed bumps are an excessive height for small cars. OK in there 4x4's but no good for our smaller cars. They more… also need to do more than just plant hedges. The canal was promised 12 months ago, but always another excuse to delay?Show less

Finishing quality
These buildings are nice to look at fairly well constructed but minor flaws in the overall finish. Walls and ceilings are a little thin and the soundproofing at the front door is poor. The windows are not properly seal so needs attention. The design of the entrance for pedestrians from the pavement is more… poor and not well thought out. The enforcement of safe driving in the car park is pathetic. The lifts are programmed to return one to ground level and one to the mid floor so if you are going back down to your car you have to recall a lift that moved back to the ground for no reason, which increases the maintenance and energy costs. Neighbours are great by me. It's proximity to sports facilities is awesome! Show less

Positives
Great size apartment
Negatives
Far too many issues!
I lived in Olympic Park 2 last year for a year and I couldn't wait to leave! At the time, the price was very reasonable for a large 2 bed, but I believe that the prices have risen dramatically since. The building was clearly thrown up very quickly and there were more… issues with the finishing and leaking pipes. The pool is rather small with limited sun loungers. The gym is pointless - most of the time the equipment didn't work. There are no weights equipment in the ladies gym and machines are basic and dated. This doesn't really matter as they tended not to work anyway. On the plus side, the apartment was massive and the balcony was nice with a partial view of the golf course and the sunset over JLT. There are no shops in walking distance - the nearest is Motor City. There are few pavements, just dusty sand tracks. The closest restaurant is the Els Club, which again is not in walking distance. We did experience noise - there is still building work going on around the building and you will hear the call to prayer at various times including early morning. The fire alarms had issues while we were there and would go off a various times. This became a major health and safety issue - people just stopped paying attention to them! The security were great, however the neighbours can be annoying by leaving trash in the corridors, blocking the rubbish shoots and even lighting barbecues that they leave on while they are asleep causing the fire brigade to be called.Show less

Its perfect for me!
When I first moved in here a year back, I thought it was very away from the main city and there were many vacant apartments. But, now I feel it is the perfect place to be for a single person or young couples. The STUDIO apartment looks very new and has more… everything furnished. It is very spacious and has a big balcony. I could fit in all my stuff in proper racks and cabinets. There is no noise pollution except when there are concerts or events happening at the cricket stadium or at the autodrome. But I love all the buzz. It is a perfect place to host friends for parties/get togethers as there are ample parking spaces in the building and very secured. I can call for home delivery from the food joints in Motor City. I never face traffic getting in and out from here except for few days during any events at the cricket stadium. I can easily take the Al Khail/Sheikh Zayed/ Mohammad Bin Rashid Road to reach the city in 15-20 minutes by car. Cabs are also easily available to take anyone to the Dubai Internet City metro station. Overall, its the perfect location and a lovely apartment with a great view of the cricket stadium. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else! Show less

Positives
Nothing. I hate it.
Negatives
Everything. I cannot wait to move.
This building is awful and the price I am paying for it is simply ridiculous. In the year I have been living in this apartment it has fallen apart and no one even considers helping me... I'll probably have to pay for all the 'damage' out of my deposit. No more… help from the security/concierge and the landlord/company is very uncooperative. The building is DIRTY and the trash room is filled with roaches which often come into our apartment. I've had 3 different problems with ants/roaches in the year I have been living in this building. It surprises me how new it is, it looks like it could fall down any minute. The gym is quite new looking but the equipment is unserviced and UNSAFE. The swimming pool water is dirty, my children are not allowed in it. We've had many problems in this apartment and no one ever gets back to us, when they do we are told that maintenance of things like the leaking toilet and sinks aren't covered when we were originally told they were. The fire alarm goes off randomly for 30 second periods at ridiculous times. There is however good access to the 311 highway and it's not far to get to Jumeirah etc on Hessa Street. Sports City could have been a lovely area but now (2014) so many projects have been left unfinished and dust and sand and rubbish is everywhere. The apartment block opposite our balcony has workers starting at 6am and their generators don't go off until 9 at night... 7 DAYS A WEEK. Don't even think of getting a lie in after a hard week of work. If there is a cricket game there is cars parking and blocking up everything and swarms of people walking in the roads. Very poorly designed. You can't get taxis outside of the building and none of the taxis drivers have a clue where the building is. There is apparently a new bus service but who knows how far you'd have to walk. NO shops what so ever, you need to drive to Motor City. You could walk but remember this is Dubai and it will take you at least an hour. Overall I strongly advise NOT to take an apartment in this building. The prices are ridiculous and it's the biggest mistake I've made since living in this country. I advise you to look at Jumierah Village Circle (JVC) as there are similar priced properties there which are finished and clean and from what people tell me they are well kept and maintained. Construction and cricket matches
We moved here 1 year ago to save some money on the crazy Dubai rising prizes. We came from JLT where we paid double for the same size flat. At first we were not sure because it looks kind of far away. This actually came out as a plus. It is more… a quiet neighborhood with middle high buildings. None go above 30 floors, Hub Canal itself is 15. Pro's: Quiet neighborhood Close to Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Hessa Street, Umm Seqiem Street Good public transport Sports amenities (Dubai Sports City Academies), Els Golf Club Shopping close (Motor City Spinneys is 5 minutes by car) Good food delivery options Cons: Cricket stadium is close (meaning every so many weeks 25000 people on the street) No shops in Sport City itself Lots of construction (but where isn't this a problem) No park or anything (yet) Dubai Sports City is a fast developing neighborhood in Dubai and will soon have all that is needed to provide for a good living environment. I got mostly attracted by the still reasonable rental prices and the good exits to the bigger roads. All in all we are very happy we moved here and love our apartment because of the layout and the huge kitchen. Generally speaking all apartments in Hub Canal are spacious and with a well though layout. Show less

The construction of new apartments that are going on behind my flate
Elite 6 is a nice building with plenty of parking. It also has a lot of elevators, so you don't wait long for one. The area is is still under construction, and there are 2 apartment buildings going up behind my flat. Soon enough I won't have a view of more… the Els's golf course. It is a convenient locations to go shopping in Motor City, but there are no supermarkets or restaurants/bars in Sport City. There is also no oven in the flat just a stove top. They do supply a microwave, but would have preferred an oven.Show less

Positives
Easy access
Negatives
No facilities (shops, Masjid, pharmacies, restaurants... etc.)
Dubai Sports City is a nice place to live, away from traffic with easy access from different roads. But there are no facilities, no shops whatsoever, no support from the management. The project is promised of a shopping mall but there is no sign of it, also a Masjid that more… have been under construction for a very long time. The management of events that happen at the Cricket stadium is very poor and not fair towards tenants who cannot find easy access to their homes. The particular tower where I stay got ZERO maintenance, the facilities in the building is not looked after (lifts, AC, Swimming pool, Parking....etc.) and the landlord is not cooperative at all. The flats got nice layout and an ok view, but the finishing is a very low quality, actually the lowest quality possible.Show less

Positives
The flat, spacious, well lit, no traffic, no noise
Negatives
New building so no issues, but I foresee plumbing issues to crop up eventually due to poor construction material used on plumbing
Excellent flat layout with kitchen and drawing room opening to decent balcony size, overlooking Victory heights golf courses.

Positives
The size of the apartment, the pool, cleanliness
Negatives
No nearby restaurants and shops to walk to yet, area is still under construction, can get a bit dusty
The apartment is of a good size, we have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and even a guest toilet! Wardrobe and bathroom sizes and finishings are very good. We have one large balcony running in front of the living room and the two bedrooms. We also have a smaller separate more… balcony for the master bedroom. During clear weather, we can see the Burj Khalifa in the distance. :) The kitchen size could have been bigger, and have more storage space. It doesn't have a space for a dish washer and this is a minus! The pool, sauna and gym facilities are great! Its a safe building. Currently there is construction going on around us, but it hasn't really been disturbing. But can get dusty sometimes especially when its windy. The building and facilities are always clean and well maintained! They have started construction of a City Center Mall close by, so that would have a Carrefour eventually and would be a major plus! At the moment, there are plenty of home delivery options for food as well as groceries in the neighbourhood.Show less

Positives
Accessibility
Negatives
No shops in the building
This apartment is really value for money, it is 10 minutes away from many signature places in Dubai, such as Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach, Mall of the Emirates etc. Accessibility is amazing, new huge roads, various routes to and from this area. Shops are limited, but a short 3 minutes more… drive would be sufficient to get everything you need, no hotels nearby, closest would be in Dubai Marina. Value for money for sure, good space, fully furnished brand new apartments. Overall, a good place to stay, quiet and peaceful.Show less
