Marina Diamond 1

We live in Diamond 5 since half a year and will move out as soon as our rental contract expires. Upsides: - Security guards are extremely nice and friendly - Rental price is low (80k) - Chiller is included so far, however they installed BTU meters and it seems to be that in the near future they will start charging for AC - View from the balcony is stunning (if you can ignore the noise) Downsides: - Humidity is a big problem in this building. Both us and other people in this building had mould in the bedroom wardrobes. At first you don't notice, because it seems to be dust at first sight. We bought a dehumidifier, which takes around 12 liters of liquid out of the air per day. Let's hope this prevents the mould from returning. - There was a leakage at the neighbours, which took maintenance over 5 weeks to fix. When we came back from a 2 week holiday the was a layer of 3cm hairy mould on our side of the wall. - The 1 bedroom apartment is very noisy. Balcony doors don't close well and there is a lot of noise from SZR. The apartment has hardly any storage, except for sleeping room wardrobes and kitchen cabinets. - The pool itself looks ok, but the beds are old and the cushions dirty. However, they added some new beds and chairs recently. The gym is really run down, with old and broken equipment.

Dubai Marina is the best place to live in with very easy access to Dubai Tram, Dubai Metro, Marina Walk, Super markets, Restaurants and what not. Love this place

I've been here for 1 year now,can't say a bad thing about the place..Well,about the design it's not the best room size but generally Marina buildings are like this..We've got spectacular view of the Marina walk, very close to Spinneys and Emaar's fountain nearby.. The pool is good size and in a good condition not the best. Metro station and tram are downstairs. I recommend it to anyone willing to live in a very good standard without paying a fortune.

The flat is so small, the problem is with the room's design, the main bedrooms have designed in a very annoying way, they are not straight, it is more like an uneven "trapezium shape" furniture does not fit properly, pool is not clean most of the times, gym with very limited equipment (2 treadmills and one bike + the all in one training thing). Being close to Sheikh Zayed Road it is 24/7 noisy ... you cannot sit at the balcony in piece and quiet.

Never thought that living on the ground floor would be this good: no waiting for elevators, own access to swimming pool, flat length terrace - it's awesome! Building management is lenient (let me hang a punching bag in the gym) and security guards are friendly (always greeting everyone and giving a helping hand). One of the best things though is the parking exit. It's right on the main road so it takes 6 minutes to reach Jebel Ali Free Zone - who gets to work quicker? Getting home is a different story as that requires waiting in a bit of Dubai Marina traffic but it's not bad when compared to reaching Al Barsha. On the downside though, the parking lot is half empty yet they only give one parking space and noise insulation within the flat is not the greatest (can hear loud water pipes). Apartment came furnished but I guess that was the landlord's choice, which I approve. Can't complain about Marina Diamond 2 as it's in walking distance to (well, not summer time walking distance) JBR Walk, supermarkets, a few restaurants and the JLT metro station. It's also resident friendly with great amenities like swimming pool, gym and even sauna and steam room.

I love this apartment in Marina Diamond, finishing is very nice and I love the layout. Back of the apartment is very bright - full of light. Only temporary problem is that we have construction in front of the building and view from bedrooms to another ones...Swimming pool area is huge and very nice. Location is the best!! Few minutes to JBR and cafes and bars and shops walking distance.

It is very convenient especially if you rely on public transportation. My apartments overlooks SZR and cannot stay with open windows due to the noise. There was some cockroach problem that got exterminated for now after pest control. The balcony is very small and is in the bedroom, overlooks SZ and cannot be used for anything else except drying clothes and a quick smoke. The landlord was fair to do double door isolation. The pool is on the bottom floor, doesn't look great and is not very well maintained.

Marina is a lovely place to be yet it's getting too expensive. So Marina Diamond 2 is quite affordable for beginners who are satisfy with the basics. This building is near to metro (estimate 7 min) yet walking distance to The Beach (estimate 15 min). So it's perfect for people who don't intend to owe a car. Supermarket and a mini mart just within 3 min walk. Friendly neighbours and guards. Frequent check-up maintenance on air con, gas pipe, fire alarm detector and cleaning the building exterior. Walls are thick enough, so you won't hear your neighbour's favourite local music. Average swimming pool and gym. The Bad: Due to the 24 hours on-going construction in Marina, the noise will affect your sleep if the bed is placed near to the balcony. Also my flat is near facing SZ road, the noise of the traffic can be pretty bad for light sleeper. The finishing is not too good, walls are slowly peeling after 1 year, ceiling turns mouldy and air con broke down once within this 1 year I'm staying here.

Near the metro and restaurants. Too much noise at night (worst on weekend). Pool is not good. Building is not a good construction. Traffic is....Marina....

Diamond 5 may not be among your top recommended Marina buildings, however it has pleasantly surprised us. In our 2 years of residence in this building, we have enjoyed fantastic Marina views, great maintenance & cleaning facilities as well as quiet and peaceful neighbors. If it weren't for our landlord coming back to live in his apartment, we wouldn't be moving out in the next couple of months. Do consider Diamond 5 in your next apartment hunt within Marina!

Marina Diamond 5 was once one of the better buildings in the area. However, for the past few years it has been deteriorating mainly due to poor maintenance. Broken gym equipment has been broken for several years without being fixed, the pool is often too dirty to swim in (green-ish water), the apartments themselves (especially the plumbing) are falling apart and in many apartments the humidity causes the walls to mould. I have been in this building for several years, and have been complaining for several years (especially since the owners association fees are high and you don't see where that money is going), but this will surely be the last year here for me. It's simply not worth paying the amounts for most owners ask.

I really love living in the Marina but cannot afford the high rent prices which is why I was so happy to move into a Diamond Building. Honestly, the finishing is not great, the pool is not great and the gym is not that great either. However, the building is regularly serviced, windows are clean and the maintenance company men are downstairs all day. The neighbours are great - really lovely down to earth individuals. The building feels safe as there is an access card that needs to be used to access all areas, the security is always attentive and there is an assigned parking space for you. The traffic to get to and from SZR is never too bad and getting in and out of the Marina takes approximately 10 minutes in peak hour traffic. It's great that there is a supermarket across the road and plenty of restaurants around. The Marina gyms and mall are also within walking distance. The metro is just outside the building which is very convenient.

Marina Diamond 4 is one of the lower budget options in the Marina. The finishing is not as great as in some other towers for more money, but still ok if you do not expect a palace. My apartment is spacious (1 bedroom, about 800 sqare feet, good shape). The location is excellent if you want to use public transport. Marina metro station is just a 2 minute walk away and the soon opening tram station is also just a 1 minute walk away. Everything else you might need is in walking distance (supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, fitness clubs, ect.). It is also only a short taxi ride to many nice bars and clubs in the Marina and to the beach as well. The one annoying thing about the place is the poor window quality in the bedroom which makes my it very noisy. This might be better on the backside of the building. The gym is also crap, so in case you want to exercise you will need to get a membership at one of the fitness clubs in town. The machines are all either out of order or soon to fall apart and thus quite dangerous to use. The pool however is quite nice and large enough to take a swim. The maintenance of the sunbeds could be better. After all the Diamond buildings are a good choice if you want to watch your budget and would like to live in a vibrant area as the Marina at the same time.

I have lived here for 3 years and always loved the location the most! Easy access on and off SZR plus lots of restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk. The mall is only a 5 minute walk away as well as JBR beach right across the bridge. The building itself is not super flash but that keeps rent reasonable.

Moved to Dubai early 2014, when rents had skyrocketed. Needed a well-connected studio with good value for money, which was practically impossible at the time. Found a furnished studio in Diamond 3, which although is expensive for what its worth (lacks modernity of furniture, size, view and has a small gym), it was still considered the best among several i searched for in JLT, Barsha and Marina. The studio is decent sized, not too tight, and it comes with a small balcony which always helps. Getting a fully furnished place is definitely recommended for those still evaluating the city and unhurried to make additional long term investments. The main advantage of Diamond 3 is by far its winning location. Transportation: If you don't yet drive / own a car, then the metro is exactly a few steps away. Finding a taxi is extremely easy.. most of the time there are many parked under the building just waiting. Shops: Right underneath the building there is a pharmacy, dry cleaners, bagel shop, sweets shop and a cafe. Within 1 minute's walk there are two large supermarkets for food and house items. Restaurants/leisure: Marina walk is less than a 3 minute walk away, giving extremely easy access to a large range of restaurants and cafes, as well as good running/walking space for exercise. Downsides: If you're expecting Dubai's fancy towers with crisp interiors and shiny exteriors, then this building is not for you. Although it has no major faults in it (everything is running just fine), it is generally considered older than most towers in the neighborhood and that is reflected in the interior decor. The gym is pretty small but the pool area is rather decent. I found it great for a first place in Dubai.. close to everything and very well connected!

Its a very nice apartment with easy access to Metro , Tram & Dubai Marina Mall. Also there are good restaurants access near to building. Beautiful sight from the apartment over the sea.

The room was rather pokey with a small amount of damp. Noise from traffic from the Sheikh Zayed Road was continually loud. The views over the Marina were breath-taking though. This was very basic accommodation but certainly sufficient for a short-term let.

Good place, buidings are bit old so mainteinance is not the best, a huge problem is a pre set termperature that you can not change or make it colder, and of course cocroches

Enjoyable place, as it is walking distance from Marina walk, metro station, grocery stores and restaurants. The finishing and the layout of the apartment could have been better. Pool side of the building is quiet, but lower floors facing Sheikh Zayed road are noisy.
