Rent in 2009 was reasonable with the condition and size of apartment. Multiplex was managing the area and they have done amazing work but now it's bad with maintenance. Apartment owner was helpful and used to pay for all maintenance over AED500 and apartment was in very good condition.

My favourite time in Dubai is the period when I lived in Motor City. It is quiet, free of traffic, has trees and I could hear birds. It is one of the the few communities that allows pets (even though I didn't have one, I believe anyone who has a pet is cool). The gym is ok and pool is nice and big. Security is fantastic. Roads are clear of traffic. Lots of parks and open spaces (kids can run around the community). I love it.

I've lived here for 4 years and fought to renew in the area. I love the place, it's green, lively and quiet at the same time. It's also somehow strategic, it's 20 minutes drive to almost every part of Dubai. My job requires me to visit Downtown as often as Media City and this place is in the middle. Easy access to many great supermarkets (Spinneys, Carrefour and bluemart) and a number of restaurants. I like cycling and this is the best place in the whole city to cycle. I have the longest biking track right next to me in Bab al Shams and the Autodrome is right here which opens every Wednesday for cyclers. If you also like swimming, it's a 5 minutes drive to the only Olympic swimming pool in Dubai (Hamdan Sports Complex) which is open for public for only 20 AED per entry or 200 per month for unlimited access. It's very family and pets friendly. And happily it's not high towers, so you don't have to wait 30 minutes for the elevator. If you sit on the balcony you see a lot of people walking around, running, etc.
