We have lived in this building for 8 years now, contrary to previous reviewers from last year the Building Management are doing a phenomenal work at keeping the building safe and well maintained, with over 300 flats it is not an easy task. There is outside guest parking that is controlled by a security guard who is stationed by the parking lot 24/7 in an AC supplied cabin, he is very helpful at all times. The entrance of both receptions looks like a hotel hallway with fresh flowers displayed, floor polished, security personnel monitoring the screens as there are cameras installed in the building, including each floor and inside the lifts. There is an additional third reception area as well that leads onto the Promenade where you can cycle/run/walk. Everything is nearby, Marina Mall with cinema in it, JBR, the beach, the tram stop, the Metro stop of JLT, almaya supermarket is 2mins, Ibn Battuta Mall short drive, Mall of the Emirates 15mins drive or 20mins by Metro door to door. Easy access to SZR and Jumeirah Beach Road as well. The traffic can get bad at peak times but then show me an area of Dubai that can't. The noise from the marina itself is annoying at times with jet skis and yachts playing music at times but the view and location compensate for it. We never had a sleepless night here, so traffic from the nearby bridge is not noisy in particular. The tram runs next to the building and you don't even hear it at closed doors. This is Tower B so Tower A might be different. The flat itself is very spacious with tons of storage space, the balcony is equally lovely, big enough for a large table, sunlounger, chairs, etc. The common areas are wonderful, the choice is vast, you can play tennis at the tennis courts that you can book in advance at reception, you can host a bbq by booking one of the bbq stations so that staff can help with coal and cleaning, the pool is very clean and well maintained, the jacuzzi is equally clean, the sunloungers have recently been changed to new ones, the kids pool is very nice as well. There is a gym to use, an indoor kids play area, a conference/business hall to rent at no extra cost for events (no alcohol allowed), indoor showering/sauna/steam facilities for men and women, outside shower, pagodas to sit under, tables to eat at...The building itself has a CrossFit gym in it that can get loud at times with weights being dropped but it does not affect the living quality much on a top floor, not sure of lower floors. There are two ladies salons as well, a Thai massage parlour and a restaurant. There are bicycle racks to use, spacious storage units and parking spaces to own and rent as well. Speed bumps in the parking area, constant maintenance of all areas.

Management
I've always loves this building but the way it is poorly managed has become an issue. Before, all was simple, now every little thing is complicated. Let’s start with the pipes, with frequent leaks at all levels. Jacuzzi and the swimming pools are dirty, every day. The cleaning of the windows is not done properly. We had a terrible sandstorm a few weeks ago, and nothing had been done since then. In 2009 my windows were cleaned on a monthly/2 months basis. Now if it is done once per semester, I call myself lucky. Before, if you had a request, you simply talked to the Building staff. Now you have to write a ton of useless papers, the building staff is not able to solve any kind of problems. In the end, nothing happens, this building has become an administration. You almost need a copy of your Visa to book the tennis court (oh and by the way, nobody is playing ...). Carpark B3 is NEVER washed! I mean never. Maybe water cannot reach that level. When B1 and b2 are cleaned, B3 is never cleaned. Building staff used to be courteous, now they barely say hello. Recently I saw a young mom with her very young child, in a trolley. And there was a few people working in the building. They just watched her, did not open the door, did not do anything, and she was struggling with her baby in her arms ... Maybe courtesy is not part of the building rules?

I really enjoy living in the Waves tower. It is the third tower I have lived in and by far the best.
Security are amazing and really friendly. This actually makes a huge difference. The facilities are great, especially the pool. The tower is not over crowded or full of room shares.
You are near to a variety of shops and facilities.
All in all a great tower! :)

Positives
Location and the building
Negatives
A bit noisy in the evening.
This building is amazing. The view of Marina and the Sea, perfect finishing and layouts of the apartment big balconies, you can fit in dining table with 4 chairs along with the dryer for the laundry. The pool is amazing too, it's big, the area around pool has tables and chairs with umbrellas for those who wants to have a pic-nick outside, and barbecue area too with special stands for the proper barbecue.
The building also has kids-room and a reception-room with all necessary equipment, it can be rented for parties.
The building has it's access to Marina walk and it's perfect for those who like jogging or just walking by Marina, watching yachts sailing by.
There are a lot of restaurants, bars, clubs, cafes, shops, supermarkets, fitness-centers, the building is surrounded by all these.

One of the better buildings in the marina, let down by unbearable traffic congestion and noise and lack of parking

Positives
Spacious apartment; Great views; Large pool; Walking distance to JBR & The Walk
Negatives
Total lack of parking for second car; Poor kitchen appliances; Traffic noise
This DAMAC building is very well built - in two years we heard not one single noise from any of our neighbours. In fact we had our home cinema in use every day and never heard one complaint! We were in Tower B which is the smaller tower directly on the marina.
The pool is large and beautiful with a large area to lounge around and lots of loungers, but the gym on the same level is poorly equipped with a limited amount of old equipment. The tennis court was well looked after though.
Access to the building is via access card, for which I had to pay extra for my wife - disappointing but not expensive at 500 AED (at the time). As usual one parking space for us but with my wife also having a car this was the main reason for us leaving - there were no extra spaces within the building for her to rent (despite what the building owners promised) and these days nowhere at all to park outside the building. Bear that in mind if you have more than one car.
The apartment itself was very roomy with two large bedrooms, a large maids/storage and a huge living room/kitchen - plenty of room here for all our furniture. The balcony was huge also. However the kitchen had pretty poor built-in appliances and would have been better without them.
The view from our seventh floor apartment was directly towards the sunset and was amazing. However in this tower one of the marina bridges is very close, meaning there was almost constant road noise day and night, particularly at the weekend and during holidays when the boy racers roar over the bridge and/or the traffic is heavy.
Overall we were very pleased with this building but the main disappointments - traffic, parking, kitchen appliances - we were unable to change and ultimately lead to us leaving. However if you can live with these limitations, and can get in the larger apartments in Tower B, then this is one of the best buildings in Dubai.

Negatives
The Waves tower has one of the best location in Dubai Marina. It has easy access to the main highways of Dubai. Only 5mins walking distance is the JLT metro station, approximately 8-10 mins is the JBR and the Marina Mall. We have a supermarket just inside the building at tower B (you can give them a call, if you need anything, they will bring your items to your apparent) , and very close the Al Maya supermarket, which is approx 2mins walking distance. There are many restaurants around. Also there is a coffee shop in front of the building and a pharmacy just around the corner. The Byblos hotel is just next to the building.
The building got an amazing view and has advance amenities, like swimming pool (1 for kids, 1for adults) and jacuzzi. Tennis court, barbecue area, a huge gym, residents lounge, children's play room, sauna and steam room.
Also important for us that, our apartment has a huge balcony.
