Fox Hill

I've purchased my apartment in 2008, the good thing was that the developer promised to deliver the apartment on time. I wished they did not. The finishing was bad, it was so obvious that they didn't care much about quality of the workshops because they want to submit it on time. So I've spent the last 6 years repairing and doing nonsense maintenance from my own money such as a bad sink, 5000 AED for floor problem happened because the subcontrator didn't care much about doing it correctly from the first time, 2000 AED to change a bathtub because the subcontrator didn't put enough concrete under it so it broke easily. Electricity problems, AC keep leaking water, etc.. I have to pay 18000AED annually because of service charges "outside my house", and yet there is no single garden in the area, no security cameras and broken doors to my building. So I can guarantee the security around will not be capable of stopping any future criminal activity if occurred God forbid. One more thing, despite that the terrace is one third of my apartment, so it is huge, I cannot do anything with it such as washing or putting some plants or basic barbecue party because there is no way to put any water and there is no place for water waste, just a tiny little hole which is 5 cm size.

We have been living in motor - city for over 4 years now and would not trade it for anything else. The location is great, 10 min and you are in the centre of everything, whether it is DIFC and Bur Dubai or whether it all the way to Maktoum airport - Surrounding schools are growing exponentially in the past 2 years between sports city, motorcity and arabian ranches you have at least 6 schools (int'l ones) Basic amneties are all present there, supermarkets (biggest Spinneys in Dubai, carrefour), pharmacies, medical centre, music centre, play area, photo shop, and so many restaurants, coffee shops and even bars around the area leaves you lost for choice. this is not to forget that 2 big shopping malls/retail strips are in progress and by mid-next year the shopping offering will at least double. It's friendly, with great neighbors and a well connected active community - plz visit Motorcity Dubai facebook page and see for yourselves there is on-going community activities, book club, yoga club (free), cycling, childrens activities and parties and festivities for every season.

Lovely, spacious apartment. One bedroom apartment perfect for one person or a couple. En suite bathroom plus guest bathroom. Huge balcony which is great, could easily have been another bedroom. Car park for guests is very busy at certain times and some times there isn't any spaces available. Easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and supermarket. No metro near by so have to rely on taxis if you don't drive. Lots of swimming pools around the area to choose from and beautiful greenery. I'd recommend Motor City to anyone.

Motor City is the best community available in Dubai. If given the chance, I would go back and live there again. Fox Hill Buildings in Motor City are among the best in Dubai. The accessibility, and inner spaces are unbelievably perfect.

Motor City is a self contained community with lots of cafes and shops - including the biggest Spinney's in Dubai. Rents are rocketing here even though the buildings and facilities are getting very old and tired. Balconies have cracked and are currently being patched up, AC leaking in corridors is very common, rubbish is not put down the chutes by other residents, it also builds up in the parking basement, card access doors are very often broken so security is not tight - although they have got more guard stations put in on the ground floor now, depending on which block you live there are kids running around in the corridors, construction noise can be heard regularly, there are lots of dogs in the community which means lots of dog waste in the gardens left by inconsiderate owners and very commonly off leash dogs running around, the swimming pools aren't cleaned regularly and the gyms have broken equipment.

I think Motor City is ideal for families especially with young children. The community has lots of green, kids can play outside in a safe environment. And you have everything literally at your doorstep. Traffic is good, Mall of the Emirates is only 10 minutes away. Our apartment has an ideal layout, plus we have a huge balcony which is like an extra room during the cooler months. The shopping area and the parking can get quite crowded on weekends, as people come here from the neighboring communities to shop and eat-out.

This is a great area to live. There are enough shops and restaurants to mean that you don't need to leave the area over a relaxing weekend and you actually feel out of the 'rat race'. Also good if you want a cheeky takeaway in the week. It is also very family orientated. Traffic is really good, hardly any even in the mornings, although we will need to see how things are when the new school opens!
