Positives: Rent is low. Apartment space is good. Community area is big and safe for kids. Supermarket and some restaurants, pharmacy and laundry under you Negatives: AC fees through Alpha are ubnormally high! There's a min fee of 300+ whether you use it or not monthly. Our fee was appx 1600 more… in summer! Th AC doesnt cool properly. Never goes below 26 no matter what you do. There's a bad sewage smell always lingering in the house. Neighbors throw garbage from their balconies onto below balconies & community area. Neighbors keep their house door open so they get AC from the corridor, so you get to hear their noise and smell their food. Kids play in the corridors & scream. Parking is filthy and things get stolen. One pool closes all summer every year claiming they are doing maintenance. Its a nightmare when they clean the building windows. They throw water and it goes nto the balconies in the bottom. Dog poop not picked up by owners.Show less

Positives
Huge play area with 2 big pools
Negatives
Management don't clean corridors
Let me start with the Positives : Best place for those with children. I love Skycourts for many reasons. Living here for last 5 years. The main reason we moved to Skycourts is, it has huge play area where my daughter can safely go to play and come back. more… I don't have to worry about cars/motorbikes passing in high speed because the play area is on 3rd Floor and fenced with wall on all 4 sides. If you come here, choose a unit with balcony because its bigger size. Open kitchen, hall, bedrooms are big and bright, everything is exactly what I want. Skycourts has Salon, Pharmacy, Clinic, few Indian restaurants, nursery, The building has large Thomsons supermarket where you get almost everything for daily needs. Walking distance to 2 schools- Aquila Shcool and Gems Wellington, Melodica music school. Negatives : Far from Center, you need 25 minutes to reach Business Bay or Deira. Only 1 bus comes here, so you need a car to live here.Show less

Cheap and decent as a stop gap
starstarstarstarstar
Deaf Gent
From United Kingdom
Moved here in 2017, Living alone.
Positives
Price.
Negatives
Poor air conditioning.
Overall not bad at all. Rent is cheap. Less than 40,000 per year for a good sized studio with own underground parking. Finishes are reasonable enough for the price you are paying. Communal areas clean. Shops and take aways at the bottom of the building. Always taxis there too. Quiet more… for the most part. Only real downside is that the air conditioning is insufficient. You can set it to whatever you want but the temperature won't go down below 24C. Having done some research this is a known problem with these buildings. Would I recommend people stay here? Sure, it's a decent stop gap. I'm not sure on anything beyond staying here a year, and the lack of decent a/c may be a stopper for you, but for me it has served its purpose. Show less

Positives
Spacious rooms, easy exit, great facilities
Negatives
Nothing
I have lived here for 3 years, 2 years rental and because i loved the place i have actually purchased even a bigger apartment. The place is recommended for many reasons: 1. Rooms are amazingly wide 2. Living room can easily fit sofas, big TV cabinet, and and a big dining table. 3. Kitchen more… can accommodate everything. 4. Bathrooms are really big and comfortable. 5. View is breathtaking, either to DSO or to burg al arab side, burg khalifah is also in your sight angle. 6. Great utilities: swimming pool, gym. 7. Landscape area: all newly done artificial grass with kids play area, lighting.... 8. Maintenance is like every other place in Dubai, not perfect not bad 9. Veeeery easy access from.anywhere and to anywhere in Dubai/Al Ain/ Abu Dhabi. 10. Rent is much cheaper than other place even AC is little but more expensive. 11. Supermarkets /shops/centers/ nurseries/schools/mediclinic centers... all around even in the same towers. 12. Parking is always available. 13. The whole surrounding area is going to be a paradise soon, and work has amazingly improved the place from 2 years back by installing electricity , maintaining and cleaning the roads and so and so. 14. Eventually i could never see a better place in Dubai, and as we say, if u need the best of the best u gotta pay a lot. Show less

Sky court is located strategically in dubai land with easy access of Al ain road emirates road making it so convenient to commute . The landscaping around the property is still in development stage but huge prospect by the time the 2020 expo starts. View from the balcony is more… breathtaking overlooking silicon oasis and the vast open space on the right side with Al ain road in sight. 2 pools ,gym and a playground for kids makes it real ideal place. Not to forget the chubby cheeks nursery right down in the building.my kid is almost ready to go to nursery and having a nursery in the building itself is a blessing. Overall would say a great for money and investment. Show less

Amazing Community to live & raise family
starstarstarstarstar
Raheal
From Pakistan
Moved here in 2015, Family with children.
Positives
No Traffic, Ample Parking, High Quality Finishing & Durable Product, Good Maintenance, Amazing Kitchen Layout, Huge Children Playground, Safe Community, Romantic Place to live, Ideal for newly married Couple
Negatives
Cooling Charges, Maintenance Charges that an owner has to pay, Abandoned Cars in Visitor Place, Access to the Dubai / Alain Road, No Direct Access to DSO, Public Transport Bus Availability,
Pros - Built by National Bonds (Government Entity), therefore highest quality was kept in mind when making this huge complex - Next to "The Villa" Community, therefore the landscape surrounding it down the line will get a significant boost as a result and investment appraisal for owners. - After the recent 4 months more… Landscaping of Podium 3 Floor (Common Area), this community beats many good communities in JLT & Marina, The Quality of the building is very well comparable to JLT Towers. Expected 100% completion Dec 2015. - The Maintenance of the building until 2014 was not good, however the owner association and management took corrective measures to ensure owner's & tenant investment are secured. Although Towers F,C,D requires a bit of maintenance when it comes to paint Job in common Areas @ P3 Level. But New maintenance company is really good. - Parking Space is ample, 6 towers with 2,800 apartment has combined 3 parking levels for more and the area inside is very wide for easy car manoeuvrability, similar to JLT. Visitors Parking - Laundry, 2 Super Markets, Restaurants, Chubby Cheeks in Tower C, Recreation Center, Tandoor, Masala Chai, Stationary Shop, Barber Shop, Beauty Saloon, Seesha Place and Burj Khaleefa View from Tower D & A - Each Apartment Type varies in size from Smallest, Medium to Largest therefore, space is utilized very well. - One of the largest wash-rooms that can be found in Dubai with High quality finishing material and Indian Green Cultured Marble being used, which does not get scratched or fades easily and have ever lasting shine if taken well care of. - All Bed rooms have built in Durable and High Quality Closets with ample space - The Place is so good that a lot of Locals prefer to live here to apart from a lot of European foreigners. - Best Towers are Tower A,B,D,E - Premium Quality Locks & Door Handles used - Security is always on the Petrol - High Speed 5 Huge Lifts in each tower, with 1 being Service lift and negligible down-time in a year. - Ample Sun Light, therefore apartments are not dark and are very well lit up depending on the side of the building you manage to take. - Good Cleaning Staff, Common Areas, Lifts are sparkling clean, Kharafi Maintenance ever since taken over in 2015 are doing a good job keeping the place tidy and sparkling - Amazing Huge Children Play Area divided in two space (for toddlers & elder Kids) - 3 Swimming Pools, (2 x Adult, 1 x Kids) with Life Guard all the time - One of the amazing connected Podium areas with Green Belts, Lights. Best Place to Walk in the evening and morning. more than 400 meter area to enjoy the walk - Best Open Kitchen Layout next to Living Hall, very good for moms to monitor their toddlers & kids in the living hall. Also very comfortable to watch TV while you work in kitchen - Built-in Large Sanyo Stove (5 Points) - Kitchen has ample cabinets & drawers Cons - Towers E & Tower C do not enjoy a good view compared to other 3 towers - In Winter Washroom Doors Wood slightly bulges - Fire Alarms Go off randomly often which is nuisance at times - Since the A/C is from a district water based cooling, the cooling charges charged are not fair (172, 272, 372)AED fixed monthly fee for Studio, 1BHK, 2BHK. Usage on Top. Therefore in Summers the cooling charges can soar upto wooping 1,200 AED for 2 BHK and 700-800 for 1BHK. "Dewa is seperate :(" - One of the highest maintenance charges in Dxb 13 AED / sqft which is not justified, as building management fails to collect the charges from previous owners and existing owners have to suffer because of this.Show less

Negatives
Everything except two good things.
The Skycourt Towers fail to deliver what they promise. The community area is one thing we moved here for but the kids are prohibited from playing any game that involves a ball. Its been long since any plants/grass here dried up. Swimming pool is not maintained in summers. The lifts more… are major trouble in the morning rush hours as three lifts are in one end and the other two in another end; you have to have 5-10 mins buffer time to reach on G/B. Kitchens in all apartments are near the main door resulting the corridor smelling all the time. Gyms were not maintained until a few months back but now they are on the track. Traffic is OK, exits are not blocked. The towers offer peace but at the cost of no good restaurant in vicinity, also home delivery options are painfully limited.Show less

Positives
Spaciousness of the house, peace and quiet and hardly any traffic on the roads.
Negatives
Too far from the city, deserted, hardly any good restaurants or malls around and NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION!
I stay in a 1 BHK. The space is great and the value for money is good. But the maintenance is to be handled completely by you. They don't provide anything. The pool is fine, but almost always dirty and unkempt. The parking lot is huge, so no worries about more… that. The area is very deserted, so if you don't own a car or drive one, life's going to be really hard and boring. On the good side, the noise pollution is almost zero. Also, it is centrally located from almost all of the major locations in Dubai like Karama, SZR, Garhoud, Barsha/Jumeirah (New Dubai). It takes about 20-25 mins by car to reach SZR. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation other than cabs, so time is not an issue but be prepared to have lighter pockets!Show less

Positives
Away from the maddening traffic and rush.
Negatives
Wish it was connected via dubai Metro.
An evolving community. Love the fact that it is away from the noise and traffic and yet easily accessible from communities in Karama and Bur Dubai. Also, it is almost self sufficient, because there are laundries, restaurants, saloons, kindergarten, clinic, pharmacy, vet services, supermarkets in and around the towers. It is more… difficult to get cabs in some other areas of Dubai but not at Skycourt; since at any given time there are at least 5-6 taxis waiting outside. What is missing and really required for such a big and growing neighbourhood is a community park or recreation area.Show less

Maintenance of the Skycourts
I would like to express an a huge concern about the management company who is responsible to maintained the Skycourts development. Skycourts is new development, only 4 years old, and the maintenance of landscapes, swimming pools, gyms, dirtiness around the development, cleaning the windows/facades, is below any acceptance level. more… We as owners are suffering , and really do not know what to do. We are paying the high maintenance fees, but the development is looking more and more seriously bad, which is dropping the values of our apartments at the market. Please HELP US to create the nice and clean environment for Skycourts. Show less

Positives
Nice big windows
Negatives
Location, high charges for A/C, bad maintained
Skycourts has a surprise for everyone after the first bill for chiller comes in due to the super high charges for Air Condition. Supplier is super expensive with their monthly fixed fee that makes a couple of thousand AED per year on top of the rent even if you keep more… A/C off. No maintenance of A/C offered in return, goes out of the tenant's pocket for cleaning the filters for example. Owner's Association is just there with a name but they do not care about complaints about their suppliers and the building is slowly falling apart. Pool has not been cleaned for several months at all for example and lifts are contentiously out of orderShow less

Positives
Peaceful atmosphere, and connects to different routes without getting into traffics.
Negatives
The chiller fee is sometimes super crazy amount just for the Airconditioning
This is my 4th year and i'm pretty happy with the location and the peace of mind from the traffics and signals. It's a very quiet place and have enough facility of what an apartment should have and the rent what I'm paying is also quite reasonable compared to the more… current market rate. Show less

Positives
The location is taking us to all Dubai
Negatives
The dirt all around the communities
The apartment is very confortable for me, I feel the space given is more than enough for me as we are a small family, the design of the apartment is also suitable as there's a decent seperation between the bedrooms and the living room The facilities provided as (gym, swimming pool..) more… are not bad, although the maintenance is not perfect. As an overall review, I can say the apartment is meeting my requirements.Show less

Positives
Everything you need is here: Gym, pool, supermarket, pharmacy, hairdresser, restaurants, ...
Negatives
No public transportation at all. Next bus stop to go to the city is in Silicon Oasis (10min with Taxi). Otherwise 20min with the Taxi to the city for approx. 45AED.
The studio I live in is quite a decent size. Interior is a bit outdated, however it serves the purpose. According maintenance there have been no issues so far. Security is present 24hrs and mostly very friendly. Noise level is almost zero, as there is nothing around. All in all more… it is a nice place to live for a limited period of time. However it is hard to get to the city without an own car, as there is no public transportation and sometimes not even a Taxi around.Show less

Cooling charges
Skycourts is a charming and spacious apartment complex, which despite its run-down condition, is being gradually repaired. Though the crippling fact of living here is the cost of cooling. A standard monthly charge of 386aed a month before switching the cooling on, and a further monthly consumption charge which during the more… summer months can reach almost 1200 to 1400aed a month is simply dreadful and undisclosed fully when signing a lease. Furthermore, they have a rule whereby when the monthly bill reaches 2,000aed they will disconnect and charge a further 1,000aed for reconnection whilst still charging the monthly service charge for nothing. In three years of occupancy they have visited once to service the AC and only after I requested. It brings an overall rental price from 75,000aed for a 2bed apartment to over 90,000aed once you include cooling. Think twice before renting at Skycourts as other options are becoming cheaper and more reasonable and also including the cooling charges. Tenants of Skycourts have spent the last three years protesting against these charges, but this has continued to fall on to deaf ears, perhaps this is why Skycourts still have only an approximate 65% occupancy in the 2,300 apartment complex.Show less

The buildings are very nice. Obviously not as Luxurious as other places in Dubai but for a building practically in the middle of nowhere they stand out. In 2011 it was clean, grass in the garden, and sunbeds by the pool. Now its more or less all gone. AC service more… charges way too much for usage and even if you are not in the country or havent used your ac you still have to pay a minimum fee, after summer holidays I came back to a huge bill. I moved here as a student as its close to Academic City but the amount I pay for ac yearly I could have easily put it on the rent and moved somewhere else. More supermarkets and restaurants opening in the area but not restaurants that you would be familiar with. Also no bus routes so you can only get a taxi if you need to go somewhere and the closest place being Academic City is already 30Dhs so imagine wanting to go to JLT.Show less
