Jumeirah Heights

I've been living in Jumeirah Heights for well over a year and although I was not fully convinced of the location, it has grown on me. To swiftly get to the point, I shall list the pros and cons: PROS: - Beautiful, spacious layouts, - Very modern finishings, - Loft area, - Amazing, big swimming pool with heating and cooling, - Rather quiet area, - Easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road, JLT and the Marina area, - 2 story (maisonette) units, - Multiple balconies, - Assigned (and numbered!) parking spaces, - Underground parking, - Géant (Le Marché - convenience store) within walking distance, - Tailor and alteration shop in same complex as Géant, - En suites in all bedrooms, - Gas cooker/oven CONS: - Dining room lighting require scaffolding rental for installation, - Corners cut in bathroom finishings, - Water pressure in bathroom showers not the greatest, - No exact replacements for damaged tiles, - No gym, - Stagnant water odor (especially in the summer), - Construction zone (slow progress), - Congestion at the roundabout on Fridays, - Too much red tape (moving in/out), - Some delivery services have trouble finding the place, - Public transport (usually have to reserve taxi)

The apartment complex is very private and secluded providing a nice get away from the loud and busy streets of Dubai. Yet, it's a 5-10 minute drive to JLT, Dubai Marina Mall and Emirates Hills. The residents of the community are friendly yet conservative giving everyone the privacy to their homes. JH has nicely layout apartments, quiet large and spacious compared to most of Dubai's thriving buildings. Unfortunately the quality of finishings are all economically made, therefore requiring renovations and maintenance. The community still requires better security and recreation facilities. The area is currently surrounded by construction and will expect 2 years to be completed.

We moved here 6 months ago after 3 years in Marina. We appreciate the size and volume of our apartment and the finishing quality. We have 3 bedrooms which comes with a large mezzanine and a maid's room. The bathrooms have an hotel's standard and the kitchen cabinets are made in Germany. It seems that a new shopping center along with sport courts is currently under construction between both Clusters. This will be of a great convenience to have these at walking distance. Last, the location of the community is one of the best. Mall of the Emirates, Marina Mall, JBR, Media City, and even the Emirates Road 311 is now 5minutes away with the recently opened roads.

It is a great area to live in. We have great layout, great area, great atmosphere, we can go and walk around the islands. There is a great nursery across the street. You are in the heart of city with the impression to live in the countryside!
